In-depth & hands-on (Pilot Project)

The Challenge

Looops.ai is a brand new service and needed hands on usage from a fresh set of eyes. When you ask friends and family for feedback you get the same "looks great, good work", but no one really digs deep.

The Review (Pilot project with custom quote)

I went through the flow as a new user with the free plan and initially found a few minor UI tweaks like missing hover text on icons, and the dark mode site showing in the editor while light mode was shown in the preview of the site (outside of the editor).

My test account was upgraded to the Personal tier, allowing forms to be generated and CMS managed content (like an FAQ) to be created for a single project. This allowed me time to test the more advanced features and attempt to break them in the unexpected ways end-users sometimes manage.

As a new user not knowing what was partly developed and what is fully working, I continued clicking around and trying a range of different tasks while providing actionable feedback and ideas for tweaks or future road map ideas.

Being the pilot project, I fed back my thoughts as I had them in private via X. This allowed Sam to review and prioritise them in his normal workload without waiting a week until a final report would be delivered.

This drip-fed process worked well with the time zone difference between Canada and the UK. I could send over feedback during my morning, he could review and comment during his afternoon, and potentially resolve any minor tweaks for the following day.

My test plan was upgraded to Pro, allowing multiple projects. This allowed me to try a second more complicated site using a longer prompt I'd previously written up, which included automatically generated FAQ as well as customer stories.

Lastly I tested out the custom domain feature and tested the site performance in PageSpeed Insights, which came out all green with high 95+ or 100, without me directly asking.

The Result

Sam was impressed with the range and types of feedback provided. He appreciated the in-depth nature of my testing, plus the understanding of his target audience and how some minor tweaks in the platform could make the offer more appealing.
